What I own here
Everything on jeans-music.com is written by me unless a page says otherwise. The articles on recording, mixing, vocals, instruments and workflow are mine, and so are the photographs and audio examples that came out of my own room. I record other people’s bands for a living, so I take this seriously from both sides of the desk; a take someone spent an afternoon getting right deserves the same protection as a paragraph I spent an afternoon writing.
If you hold the rights to something published here
Send me the exact address of the page you are concerned about, not just the domain. A link to the specific article or file is what lets me find the thing you mean and deal with it without guessing. If the material appears in several places, list each URL separately.
What your notice needs to contain
Tell me who you are and what you own; identify the work you say is being infringed; give me the URL on this site where it appears; and give me a way to reach you, preferably an address that accepts replies. Add a line confirming you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them, and a line confirming the information is accurate and that you have not given permission for the use. That last part matters, because a great many complaints turn out to be a licensing arrangement someone forgot about, and I would rather ask you than delete a page on a hunch.
What happens next
I read every notice myself. If it is valid and specific, I will act quickly, which usually means removing or replacing the material while I check my own records. If I think the complaint is mistaken I will tell you why rather than stall. If you are unsure how to reach me, the contact page on this site has the route; use it and put copyright in the subject line so it does not sit in a queue.
If you think I got it wrong
Say so plainly, with the URL and your reasoning. I have had to correct my own credits before and I would rather fix a mistake than defend one.
